Melbourne City came through, with Rhianna Pollicina and 15-year-old Shelby McMahon scoring to secure the Premiers Plate for the first time in four years.
In the finals bracket, Sydney FC finished in second place, while Western United were also safely through to the finals. The Newcastle Jets secured their spot with a massive eight-goal win over Adelaide United, leaving the Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory to fight for the remaining spot.
Sydney FC will look to defend their title in the knockout stages, while Melbourne Victory aims to win their third Grand Final in four years. However, Melbourne City, as the Premiership winners, are considered the favorites to lift the trophy, as they have previously gone on to win two trophies in seasons when they clinched the Premiership.
