A manhunt is underway in Malaysia following a shooting incident at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in the early hours of Sunday. The 38-year-old assailant fired two shots at his wife at the entrance of the arrival hall in Terminal 1, but missed, hitting and critically injuring one of the woman’s bodyguards. Two members of the public were also injured when the man lit and threw firecrackers. The shooting was believed to be due to a personal issue between the suspect and his wife, who was in the early stages of pregnancy and going through a divorce process.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain stated that the suspect should turn himself in and all CID personnel in neighbouring states have been mobilized for the search. The suspect had fled in a car parked at Block C and is believed to be headed north. Mohd Shuhaily warned that the suspect is dangerous and armed, and urged the public to not approach him but to share any information with the police. The man had three criminal records, including two for criminal intimidation and one for theft and impersonating a civil servant. The suspect’s wife had previously lodged two police reports against him for criminal intimidation and had hired bodyguards after the latest report was lodged in December.

The shooting incident at KLIA resulted in injuries to the woman’s bodyguard and two members of the public, as the assailant attempted to attack his wife with gunfire and firecrackers. The suspect, who is armed and dangerous, fled the scene after the shooting and is believed to be headed north in a car parked at Block C. Authorities have launched a manhunt for the assailant, urging him to surrender and warning the public to not approach him but to share information with the police. The suspect, who has a history of criminal records including theft and impersonation, had been arrested previously after his wife lodged police reports against him for criminal intimidation.

As investigations into the shooting at KLIA continue, police are focusing on the personal issues between the suspect and his wife, who is reportedly in the early stages of pregnancy and going through a divorce process. The suspect’s wife had hired bodyguards after lodging police reports against him, and the shooting incident at KLIA resulted in injuries to her bodyguard and two members of the public. Authorities have urged the suspect to cooperate and surrender while conducting a search that will cover the country’s border areas with the help of CID personnel from neighbouring states. The suspect’s criminal background, which includes charges of criminal intimidation and theft, indicates a pattern of violent behavior towards his wife, who had sought police protection in response to his actions.

The manhunt for the assailant responsible for the shooting at KLIA is ongoing as authorities continue to search for the armed and dangerous suspect who fled the scene after attempting to attack his wife. The suspect, who had fired shots at his wife and injured her bodyguard and two members of the public, is believed to be headed north in a car parked at Block C. With a history of criminal records related to criminal intimidation and theft, the suspect has been the subject of police reports filed by his wife for violent behavior. As the investigation into the shooting progresses, authorities are focusing on the personal issues between the suspect and his wife, who is reportedly in the early stages of pregnancy and seeking a divorce. The manhunt, involving CID personnel from neighbouring states and border areas, aims to locate and apprehend the suspect before he can cause further harm.
