Lionel Messi scored two goals and provided an assist to lead Inter Miami to a 3-1 victory over Nashville SC in Major League Soccer. This increased Messi’s total to seven goals for the season and extended his streak of having a goal or assist in each of the six league matches he’s played. Sergio Busquets, Messi’s former Barcelona teammate, also scored his first goal for Miami in the game. Miami remained in first place in the Eastern Conference and is unbeaten in five matches against Nashville since Messi’s arrival.

Despite an early own goal by Miami defender Franco Neri, the team was able to erase the deficit with goals from Messi and Busquets in the 11th and 39th minutes. Miami goalkeeper Drake Callender made a crucial save to keep Miami ahead in the second half, and Messi sealed the victory with a penalty kick in the 81st minute. Messi’s former Barcelona teammate Jordi Alba was sidelined with a hamstring injury for the game. Miami will next face New England, while Nashville will host San Jose in their upcoming matches.

Messi’s performance has been instrumental in Miami’s success this season, with his goals and assists playing a key role in the team’s strong position in the Eastern Conference. His partnership with Busquets has also proved to be fruitful, as the duo combined for a goal in the game against Nashville. Miami has shown resilience in overcoming early setbacks, such as the own goal, to secure important victories and maintain their position at the top of the standings.

Nashville struggled to contain Messi and Miami’s attacking prowess, with their only goal coming from the early own goal by Neri. Despite goalkeeper Elliot Panicco’s efforts, Nashville was unable to prevent Miami from taking control of the game. The team will need to regroup and improve their defensive performance in future matches to climb up the standings and compete with the top teams in the league. Nashville will look to bounce back in their upcoming games and secure crucial points to make a push for the playoffs.

The victory over Nashville marked another impressive performance by Messi in MLS, showcasing his skills and impact on the team. His ability to score goals and create opportunities for his teammates has been a major asset for Miami this season. With Messi leading the way, Miami will aim to maintain their strong form and continue their push for success in the league. Fans can expect more exciting games and standout performances from Messi and the rest of the team as they strive for glory in MLS.
