Lifeless body of person caught in flood in Kayseri found

The heavy rain in the district caused a flash flood. As a result of the landslide in Gulluce neighborhood, one of the vehicles stranded was swept away by the flood and overturned into the stream bed. Upon notification, gendarmerie, health, and search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area.

While the vehicle was being removed from its location with a machine, the lifeless body of Muhittin Saraç, who was deemed to have been swept away by the floodwaters, was found in the garden of a house approximately 10 kilometers away from his vehicle. As part of the search operations involving about 150-person team, 8 vehicles stranded during the heavy rain and many citizens were also evacuated to safe areas.

Furthermore, Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek, AK Party Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş, AK Party Kayseri Deputy Hulusi Akar, and Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç went to the region to receive information from officials. Governor Çiçek, in a social media post, stated, “Upon receiving information that some of our citizens were stranded due to the flood disaster in Bünyan district, our teams immediately started working, and the stranded citizens were reached. The search for a missing citizen is still ongoing.”

As a result of the flash flood caused by heavy rain in the district, one vehicle was swept away into the stream bed due to a landslide in the Gulluce neighborhood. Following a report, gendarmerie, health, and search and rescue teams were sent to the area.

During the operation to remove the vehicle with a machine, the lifeless body of Muhittin Saraç, who was believed to have been swept away by the floodwaters, was found in the garden of a house about 10 kilometers away from his vehicle. The search efforts involving approximately 150 team members also led to the safe evacuation of 8 stranded vehicles and numerous citizens during the heavy rain.

Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek, AK Party Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş, AK Party Kayseri Deputy Hulusi Akar, and Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç visited the region to receive updates. Governor Çiçek confirmed the rescue of stranded citizens and ongoing search efforts for a missing individual in Bünyan district.

Overall, the flash floods in the area have caused extensive damage and necessitated rapid response efforts from emergency services and officials. The coordination between various departments and the engagement of a significant number of personnel in the search and rescue operations have been crucial in ensuring the safety of citizens affected by the natural disaster. The continued efforts to locate missing individuals and support those in need have been a top priority for authorities in the affected district.
