Taylor Swift surprised her fans with not one, but two new albums, The Tortured Poets Department and its expanded version, The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology. The video for the single Fortnight, featuring Post Malone, was released on a Friday night, adding to the excitement. The albums consist of a total of 31 new songs, with Tortured Poets already breaking records as the most-streamed album in a single day for 2024. Swift described the album as a reflection of a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time.

The Tortured Poets Department was announced in February by Swift, following her 14th Grammy award win. Various versions of the album were unveiled during The Eras Tour, generating further anticipation among fans. Collaborators on the album include Post Malone, Florence & The Machine, Jack Antonoff, and Aaron Dessner. Swift has multiple solo writing credits on the album, adding to her songwriting repertoire. The standard tracklist includes 16 new songs and four bonus tracks, with the surprise release of The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology comprising the full 31 songs.

Fans can stream The Tortured Poets Department on various platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, and Tidal. The Anthology version is also available for streaming, giving listeners access to the complete collection of songs. Additionally, physical copies of the album, including variant editions with bonus tracks, can be found at retailers like Target. Swift has made the album available in different formats for collectors and enthusiasts.

As part of the double album release, the four bonus songs are included in The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, making it easier for fans to access all the tracks without buying multiple physical copies. While physical releases are still available for collectors, the digital version offers convenience for streaming. Swift’s handling of bonus tracks with this album contrasts with her previous releases, showing a shift in approach to her music distribution strategy.

Amid rumors of a leak of The Tortured Poets Department before its official release, fans have been cautioned against listening to unauthorized versions of the album. Platforms like X (previously Twitter) have taken measures to prevent access to leaked content. Swift’s team has not confirmed or denied the leak, urging fans to wait for the official release to support the artist. Streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple offer a safe and legal way to enjoy the new album without risking exposure to potentially harmful content.
Swift continues to captivate her audience with new music and surprises, keeping fans eagerly anticipating her next move in the music industry.
