Kelowna’s Gospel Mission is hosting its 13th annual Strides Event fundraiser to raise donations for programs and services provided to the unhoused community in Kelowna. The event challenges community members to walk or run either 2, 5, or 10 kilometers. The Director of Resource Development at KGM, Troy McKnight, expressed gratitude for the community support and emphasized that every stride taken and every dollar raised will directly support the life-changing programs offered by Kelowna’s Gospel Mission. Additionally, the event aims to combat the stigma surrounding homelessness and let unsheltered neighbors know that they are seen, valued, and loved.

The Strides Event not only serves as a fundraiser but also provides an opportunity for the public to educate themselves on the work being done by Kelowna’s Gospel Mission to support individuals experiencing homelessness. The organization has been providing assistance since 1978, and by participating in the event, attendees actively contribute to making a positive impact in the lives of those in need. McKnight encourages people to join the event and stride together for a cause, making a difference one step at a time. The event will take place at Metro Hub located at 1265 Ellis St, starting at 1 p.m. and ending at 2 p.m. Registration is available both in person and online.
