Jennie Garth recently spoke out against Nickelodeon showrunner Dan Schneider following the allegations made against him in the documentary “Quiet on Set.” The “Beverly Hills, 90210” star stated that she did not want to talk about Schneider ever again in her life. Garth, who starred on Schneider’s show “What I Like About You” alongside Amanda Bynes, mentioned that she has not spoken to Bynes since the investigation documentary aired last month.
Despite Bynes not participating in the docuseries or addressing the allegations of sexism and racism made by former Nickelodeon child stars and employees, Garth mentioned that she would love to see Bynes at any point. The documentary also featured former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell, who revealed that he had been sexually assaulted by his former dialogue coach, Brian Peck. Bell described the abuse as extensive and brutal, recalling feeling trapped when it happened to him at 15 years old.
Bell disclosed that the abuse took place after meeting Peck on Season 2 of “The Amanda Show” in 2000. Peck was later arrested in 2003 on 11 charges related to sexual assault and was convicted the following year of sexually abusing a then-unidentified child actor, who has now been confirmed to be Bell. Peck served 16 months in prison as a result of the charges brought against him.
Dan Schneider, accused of creating an inappropriate and toxic work environment after developing popular Nickelodeon shows, addressed some of the allegations and admitted regretting some of his past behaviors. Garth is among the former stars of Schneider’s shows who have spoken out about the content of the documentary, including Josh Peck, Kenan Thompson, and Melissa Joan Hart.
