Jayson Tatum led the Boston Celtics to a 133-128 victory over the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, scoring 36 points. The game went into overtime after Jaylen Brown hit a tying 3-pointer in the final seconds of regulation. Jrue Holiday contributed with a season-high 28 points, and Brown added 26 points. The Celtics managed to rally just in time for the win, with Game 2 scheduled to take place on Thursday night in Boston.

The Pacers put up a tough fight, with Tyrese Haliburton scoring 25 points and dishing out 10 assists. Indiana knocked down 13 3-pointers and scored 56 points in the paint against the Celtics, who were missing Kristaps Porzingis. Pascal Siakam also had a strong performance with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Myles Turner finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

Overall, the Celtics showed resilience in their comeback victory, even without Porzingis on the court. Tatum’s 36 points were crucial for Boston, especially in overtime where he scored an additional 10 points to secure the win. Brown’s clutch 3-pointer at the end of regulation helped force the game into overtime, where the Celtics were able to capitalize and take the series lead.

The Pacers will look to bounce back in Game 2 after a strong showing in Game 1. Haliburton’s 25-point performance showcased his scoring ability and playmaking skills, while Siakam and Turner also had solid contributions. Indiana’s 3-point shooting and points in the paint were key factors in keeping the game competitive throughout. They will need to regroup and come up with a game plan to counter the Celtics’ late-game heroics in order to even the series.

Both teams will need to make adjustments for Game 2, with the Celtics looking to maintain their momentum and the Pacers aiming to even the series. Porzingis’ potential return could be a factor in the next game, adding another dimension to Boston’s lineup. Tatum and Brown will be key players for the Celtics, while Haliburton, Siakam, and Turner will be looking to lead the Pacers to a win on the road. Game 2 promises to be another exciting matchup between these two Eastern Conference contenders.
