According to the recent European Air Traffic Overview Report released by EUROCONTROL, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (SHGM) shared the air traffic statistics for the period of March 25-31, 2024 on its official website. The data revealed that Turkey ranked 6th among the countries with the highest air traffic volume in Europe, with an average of 2,603 flights per day.
Istanbul Airport, the gateway of Turkey to the world, was the busiest airport in Europe during this period with an average of 1,328 flights per day. Turkish Airlines, the flag carrier of Turkey, also performed well by ranking 3rd among the airlines with the highest number of flights, with a total of 1,319 flights during the specified period.
