I experimented with Donald Trump and Kamala Harris’ eating habits for a day – one left me satisfied, the other left me drained and parched

A food critic decided to experience a day of eating like both presidential candidates, Donald J. Trump and Kamala Harris, having breakfast, lunch, and dinner just like they would. The critic discovered that their taste buds were vastly different, with a surprise bipartisan support for Doritos. Eating like Kamala Harris left the critic feeling full, happy, and well-rested, while a day of eating like Donald Trump was exhausting, leaving the author feeling bludgeoned, thirsty, powerful, and accomplished.

Kamala Harris’ meal choices included a mellow breakfast of raisin bran and almond milk, with green tea instead of coffee. For lunch, she enjoyed Indian-style curd rice with unsweetened yogurt, salt, pomegranate arils, and spices. Dinner usually consisted of a dense gumbo, filled with southern favorites like Andouille sausage, shrimp, and chicken, accompanied by bourbon pecan caramel cake for dessert. Rea noted that Harris’ food had a punch and the day ended with a sense of calm despite the initial confusion.

On the other hand, Donald Trump’s fast-food preferences were well-known, with a love for McDonald’s. He typically started the day with lots of Diet Coke and often skipped breakfast, fasting for up to 16 hours. Lunch usually involved searingly well-done steak with ketchup for added moisture as the meat was often dry. For dinner, Trump indulged in Golden Arches, ordering multiple Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, Big Macs, and a chocolate shake, which left the food critic feeling like starting a fistfight after the meal.

Eating like Harris felt good overall, with creamy and salty curd rice, herbaceous and spicy gumbo, and a sweet dessert and floral tea, all filling out the flavorful day. On the other hand, Trump’s diet left the critic with a college hangover the next morning, stumbling through the morning feeling the effects of the greasy fast food. Harris’ slow and intentional eating habits seemed to be a more balanced approach compared to Trump’s rushed and fast-food-heavy meals.

Both presidential candidates’ meal choices reflect their personalities, with Harris showing a more thoughtful and intentional approach to eating, while Trump demonstrates a fast-paced and indulgent attitude towards food. After experiencing a day of eating like both candidates, the food critic was able to witness firsthand how different their food choices and eating habits were, leaving him with a sense of understanding the candidates a little better through their meals. Regardless of personal preferences, the food critic found aspects of each candidate’s diet to be surprising, revealing that food choices can be telling of a person’s character and preferences.
