As the Bayram holiday comes to an end, many people who spent their holiday in their hometowns or vacation resorts are now making their return journey. In particular, there is increased traffic on the Anatolian Highway in the Bolu, Düzce, Sakarya, and Kocaeli sections towards Istanbul.
On the Bolu section of the highway, there is occasional congestion at the Köroğlu ramps, Rüzgarlı, Dağkent, Abant Intersection, Elmalık, Bolu Mountain Tunnel, and Gerede-Black Sea Connection road. In the Sakarya section of the highway and at the Akyazı area where the North Marmara Highway begins, as well as at the Hendek crossing of the D-100 highway, there are also sporadic traffic jams.
In Kocaeli, especially at Hatipköy and Bekirdere, there is smooth traffic flow towards Istanbul on the Anatolian and North Marmara highways. Those wanting to visit tourist destinations in the Kartepe and Başiskele districts on the D-100 and D-130 highways are also causing congestion at times.
Teams working on these routes are continuing their efforts to ensure smooth traffic flow despite incidents such as accidents and vehicle breakdowns that occasionally slow down the traffic flow. In the Karabük section of the D-100 highway, which connects the Anatolian Highway to the Black Sea cities, traffic is flowing smoothly.
While traffic flow is normal in the Ankara direction on these routes, it is expected that return traffic will increase on Saturday and Sunday. Travelers are advised to plan accordingly and to check traffic conditions before starting their journey to avoid any delays. Overall, authorities are working to ensure the safety and efficiency of the roadways during this busy return period after the Bayram holiday.
