Istanbul residents returning to the city after the holiday season as well as those who spent their holidays in the city are also making their way back to their hometowns. The return of those who chose to travel by bus during the holiday season is causing crowding at bus stations. Bus companies have added extra trips to accommodate the influx of travelers.

At the busy points of the Big Istanbul Bus Terminal, there was observed to be a large number of people returning to Istanbul as well as those departing from the city. Due to the vehicle density at the entrance and exit points of the bus station, traffic jams have occurred. It was reported that bus companies have organized additional trips to meet the demand.

Bus captain Serhun Bayar stated that there is heavy traffic on the roads during the holiday season. He mentioned that they took 11 hours to travel from Izmir to Istanbul when it should have taken 4-5 hours due to the crowded highways. Alperen Ün, who traveled from Kars to visit his family in Istanbul for the holiday, noted that the city was very crowded during the holiday season so he decided to stay at home.

The Big Istanbul Bus Terminal has seen a large number of people both returning to and departing from the city, leading to traffic jams at the entrance and exit points. To meet the high demand for transportation, bus companies have added extra trips to their schedules.
