Due to the vehicle density at the entrance and exit points of the bus station, traffic jams have occurred. It was reported that bus companies have organized additional trips to meet the demand.
Bus captain Serhun Bayar stated that there is heavy traffic on the roads during the holiday season. He mentioned that they took 11 hours to travel from Izmir to Istanbul when it should have taken 4-5 hours due to the crowded highways. Alperen Ün, who traveled from Kars to visit his family in Istanbul for the holiday, noted that the city was very crowded during the holiday season so he decided to stay at home.
