Harris to mock Trump during Alabama football game in response to second debate

Former President Donald Trump will be attending the Alabama-Georgia football game at Bryant-Denny Stadium, where Vice President Kamala Harris plans to troll him over his refusal to debate her for a second time. The Harris campaign has arranged for a small plane to fly over Tuscaloosa during the game with a banner reading, “Trump’s Punting on 2nd Debate.” In addition to this aerial message, the campaign will also air a national ad during the game, challenging Trump to meet her on the debate stage one more time.

The ad’s narrator calls out Trump for his refusal to debate, stating that winners never back down from a challenge and champions are willing to engage any time, any place. The ad emphasizes that those who refuse to debate are seen as losers who whine and take their ball home. Despite the Harris campaign’s invitation for a second debate next month, Trump has declined, citing the timing of the debate as being too late since early voting has already started in some states. However, sources reveal that Trump has privately considered the possibility of meeting Harris on the debate stage again, as it could help him make his case to the American people.

While Trump’s advisers have suggested that a second debate could benefit him by highlighting Harris’ record in office, there are doubts as to whether Trump will actually agree to another debate. The former president himself has indicated that his decision could depend on his mood. It is noted that a second debate could also serve Harris, as polls following the first debate did not show a significant impact on the race, which has remained in a dead heat. Despite viewers overwhelmingly thinking that Harris outperformed Trump in the debate, it did not lead to a substantial shift in support.

Overall, the dynamic between Trump and Harris regarding a potential second debate is complex and uncertain. While Harris is actively calling for another debate and using strategic tactics to pressure Trump into accepting, there is skepticism about whether Trump will ultimately agree. Trump’s hesitance towards a second debate, despite some advisors suggesting its potential benefits, adds an element of unpredictability to the situation. As both candidates navigate the political landscape leading up to the next election, the debate over a debate continues to be a point of contention and a reflection of the ongoing rivalry between Trump and Harris.
