Vice President Kamala Harris recently made an appearance on the popular “Call Her Daddy” podcast, discussing topics such as abortion, sexual abuse, and women’s empowerment. During the interview, Harris emphasized the importance of women ignoring those who doubt them and not letting others define them. She also criticized her GOP opponent, Donald Trump, for his views on abortion and other issues, calling him “full of lies” and dismissing comments made by JD Vance as “mean-spirited.”
Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, are engaging in a media blitz to boost support in the final days of the campaign against Trump and Vance. Harris has faced criticism for not doing enough media interviews, but is now scheduled to appear on various shows including “60 Minutes,” Howard Stern’s satellite radio show, “The View,” and “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert. Walz will also be making appearances on shows such as Jimmy Kimmel’s on ABC.
In a preview of her “60 Minutes” interview, Harris navigated around a question about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasizing the important alliance between the American and Israeli people. Walz, on the other hand, made his campaign debut on Fox News, addressing criticism of his previous statements and stand on abortion rights. He defended a law he signed as governor to ensure abortion protections and criticized Trump for his views on abortion.
During the Fox News interview, Walz also discussed the turmoil in the Middle East and Israel’s right to defend itself against attacks from Iran. He emphasized the importance of consequences for actions taken by Iran and highlighted the work done by Harris and Israel to repel Iranian attacks. President Joe Biden has stated that he would not support an Israeli strike on sites related to Tehran’s nuclear program.
Walz also addressed questions about misstatements related to his military service, drunken driving arrest, infertility treatment for his family, and claims to have been in Hong Kong during the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre in China. He acknowledged his mistakes and showed a willingness to own up to his errors. Despite these missteps, Walz believes that voters are more concerned about Vance’s inability to acknowledge Trump’s loss in the 2020 election and the potential restrictions on infertility treatments.
