Dee Dee was believed to have suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, leading her to convince Gypsy she had various ailments and needed a feeding tube and wheelchair. The story of their tumultuous relationship was depicted in the 2017 documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest and the 2019 Hulu limited series The Act.
Prior to her relationship with Urker, Gypsy was engaged to Ryan Anderson in 2018 while still in prison. The couple split in 2019, and Gypsy later married Anderson in a small ceremony with no guests in July 2022. However, shortly after being released from prison in December 2023, Gypsy announced she had split from Anderson and filed for divorce in March 2024. Four months later, she confirmed that she was pregnant with Urker’s child, announcing the news via a YouTube video in July 2024.
Gypsy’s ex-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, also played a significant role in her past. He conspired with Gypsy to kill Dee Dee, eventually carrying out the act by stabbing her to death. Godejohn pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison. Despite the challenges she has faced, Gypsy seems to be focusing on her new role as a mother and her growing family with Urker.
