Milan Fashion Week is showcasing a trend of all-white looks for the upcoming spring and summer season. With fashion houses like Tod’s, Moschino, Alberta Ferretti, Del Core, and Cavalli leading the way, white ensembles are making a statement on the runways. Gucci, in particular, offered a collection titled “Casual Grandeur” which featured a mix of tailored pieces, lingerie, leather, and a 1960s silhouette. The show attracted celebrities like Jessica Chastain, Kirsten Dunst, and Nicola Coughlan, as well as K-pop fans eagerly awaiting the appearance of Jin from BTS.

Versace took a more conservative approach with their Spring-Summer 2025 collection, showcasing looks for good girls that mixed satiny pencil skirts, polos, and demure cardigans. The collection had a nod to the past with mod hairstyles and a silhouette inspired by the 1960s and 1970s. Gigi Hadid walked the runway in an off-shoulder floral midi dress, exuding femininity without being provocative. The menswear complemented the women’s looks with wavy knits and satiny floral prints, offering mix-and-match pieces that were light on attitude.

Tod’s celebrated artisanal intelligence in a world dominated by artificial intelligence. The brand highlighted craftsmanship with artisans hand-stitching the signature Gommino driving shoe while models emerged from beneath sculptor Lorenzo Quinn’s oversized white hands. The Spring-Summer 2025 collection featured crisp cotton pairings, soft leather designs, and a touch of casual elegance with asymmetrical cuts and wraps. The collection was finished with new Gommino leather sandals and clogs, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to elevated products made in Italy.

Sunnei marked its 10th anniversary by challenging the idea of “growing up” and “maturing” in fashion. With a focus on diversity and inclusivity, the brand cast older models, showcasing a range of oversized garments in a slow-paced show that emphasized the brand’s youthful jubilance. The collection included billowing bubble tops, striped tunics, and pleated leather skirts, as well as trousers with fanning pleats and built-in aprons. The brand founders acknowledged an AI fail and relied on their human design team for prints featuring six faces that were available for purchase immediately after the show.

Overall, Milan Fashion Week highlighted a trend towards white ensembles for the upcoming season, with fashion houses like Gucci, Versace, Tod’s, and Sunnei showcasing their unique takes on the trend. From casual grandeur to artisanal intelligence and youthful jubilance, the collections presented a diverse range of styles and inspirations for fashion enthusiasts to look forward to in the spring and summer of 2025.Celebrities, fashion insiders, and fans alike were captivated by the creativity and innovation on display at the prestigious event, setting the stage for upcoming trends and influences in the fashion industry.
