After watching Manchester United’s lacklustre performance against Arsenal, Wayne Rooney accused Erik ten Hag’s players of feigning injuries. Rooney appeared as a guest pundit for Sky Sports and criticized the United players, claiming many were pretending to be injured. Graeme Souness agreed with Rooney’s assessment, stating that he had heard similar information that some players were not as injured as they claimed. This accusation of feigning injuries comes after United’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, with Leandro Trossard scoring the only goal of the match at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United side has been dealing with a series of injuries, with key players out of action. Before the Arsenal game, Ten Hag was without several players including Rapael Varane, Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, and Marcus Rashford. Despite the injury concerns, Rooney and Souness both suggested that some of these players could still play, but were choosing not to, casting doubt on their commitment to the team. Ten Hag has previously lamented his team’s injury woes, particularly in the defensive areas, citing the frequent changes to his backline throughout the season.

Souness echoed Rooney’s sentiments on TalkSPORT, stating that players who are not fully committed to playing for Manchester United are causing embarrassment for the club. He emphasized the importance of all players being united and working together towards a common goal, but suggested that this may not be the case with the current squad. The accusations of players faking injuries and lacking motivation point to a deeper issue within the team that may be affecting their performances on the pitch. United’s defeat to Arsenal has left them in eighth position in the Premier League, trailing behind Chelsea and Newcastle.

Despite the ongoing injury concerns and criticism from former players, Manchester United still have important matches coming up. They are set to face Newcastle and Brighton in their final league games before the FA Cup Final against Manchester City. These upcoming fixtures will be crucial for United as they look to salvage their season and end on a high note. With the accusations of players feigning injuries and questions over their commitment, the pressure is on Ten Hag and his squad to deliver better performances and results in the remaining matches. The divide in opinions within the football world regarding these accusations adds another layer of complexity to the situation at Manchester United.
