George Clooney dismisses rumors of receiving $35 million for Wolfs movie with Brad Pitt: ‘It’s concerning if that’s the perception’

George Clooney recently addressed reports that he and co-star Brad Pitt were paid over $35 million for their roles in the film “Wolf’s,” dismissing the claims as inaccurate. Clooney clarified that the reported salaries were millions less than what was actually paid, expressing concern about the impact such reports could have on the film industry. He mentioned that both he and Pitt returned portions of their salaries after a theatrical deal fell through, resulting in a limited release in a few hundred theaters. Despite the setbacks, Clooney acknowledged that the film would still reach a wide audience.

In “Wolf’s,” Clooney and Pitt play fixers who find themselves working together to cover up crimes. The film marks the first time the iconic duo have shared the screen since 2008’s “Burn After Reading.” Clooney reflected on his professional and personal relationship with Pitt, stating that it was enjoyable to work with someone he knows well. While critics have given the film poor reviews, calling it a messy dud and an unbearable comedy, Clooney remains optimistic about the project, despite the negative reception.

The $200 million film is set to debut in theaters on September 20 and follows the two Ocean’s Eleven co-stars as they team up to solve a crime involving a dead 20-something. However, critics have criticized the movie, with many stating that it falls flat and lacks humor or heart. Some have suggested that the director, Jon Watts, relied too heavily on Clooney’s and Pitt’s star power to make it a box office success, resulting in a lackluster plot and a repetitive script that focuses only on the characters not wanting to work together.

Critics like Barry Levitt have described “Wolf’s” as having a one-note joke that is repeated throughout the film, leading to a lack of fresh material and humor. The film has been compared to a “slick student film” and criticized for lacking the depth and substance that audiences expect from a big-budget production. Despite the negative reviews, Clooney and Pitt’s star power may still attract audiences to see the film, even if it does not live up to their expectations. Clooney’s long-standing relationship with Pitt and their shared history onscreen may also draw viewers to the theaters.

Overall, while George Clooney and Brad Pitt’s salaries for “Wolf’s” have sparked controversy and debate, the film itself has received mixed to negative reviews from critics. Clooney’s response to the reports reflects his concern for the industry and the broader implications such claims could have on future productions. Despite the challenges the film has faced, Clooney remains committed to his work and his collaboration with Pitt, emphasizing the importance of relationships and shared experiences in the industry.
