Plans have been submitted for a third and final tower as part of Mirvac’s “Sky Precinct” in Newstead, standing at 105.2 metres and housing 138 units. The tower would consist of 85 two-bedroom units, 42 three-bedroom units, 10 four-plus bedroom units, and one sole one-bedroom unit. This development application is part of Mirvac’s $1 billion Waterfront Newstead project, designed to meet the demands of Brisbane’s growing population.

Located about three kilometers from Brisbane’s CBD, the Sky Precinct has transformed from an industrial area into a sought-after address over the past two decades. Mirvac’s general manager of Queensland residential, Warwick Bible, emphasizes that this new tower will help address the undersupply of housing in Brisbane. With the Queensland government’s population projections indicating continued growth in the city, new projects like this are vital to keep pace with increasing demand for inner-city living options.

The as-yet-unnamed tower will add to the mix of apartments available at Waterfront Newstead, catering to a diverse range of residents. Mirvac has made efforts to provide a variety of housing options, from luxury apartments to affordable housing for key workers, with 25% of units offered at a discounted rate. This approach reflects the company’s commitment to creating inclusive and accessible communities within the development.

The proposed tower will include 244 car parks, with 21 dedicated to visitors, as well as 709 square meters of retail space at ground level. These amenities will contribute to the livability and convenience of the development for residents, adding to the appeal of the Sky Precinct as a desirable place to live in Brisbane. Mirvac’s focus on providing quality infrastructure and services aligns with their goal of creating vibrant and sustainable urban spaces for a growing population.

Mirvac’s investment in the Sky Precinct underscores their long-term commitment to developing thriving communities in Brisbane. The company’s strategic vision for the area has led to the successful transformation of Newstead into a vibrant and desirable neighborhood. By providing a mix of housing options and amenities, Mirvac aims to create a diverse and inclusive community that can accommodate the needs of current and future residents in a rapidly growing city.

Overall, the proposed third tower in Mirvac’s Sky Precinct represents a significant milestone in the ongoing development of Waterfront Newstead. With its focus on meeting market demand and creating a diverse and inclusive community, this project reflects Mirvac’s dedication to sustainable urban planning and design. As Brisbane continues to grow and evolve, developments like this will play a crucial role in shaping the city’s future and providing high-quality living spaces for its residents.
