The Saskatoon Police Service’s serious assault unit is investigating four stabbings that occurred over the weekend. The first incident took place on Friday evening in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue North, where an 18-year-old woman was injured by a hatchet. The victim and her friend were approached by two women in black clothing who assaulted them. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The second incident occurred on Saturday night in the 500 block of Queen Street, where a 16-year-old girl reported being approached by two females who started stabbing and beating her. The victim’s bag was found nearby, and one suspect was arrested, while the other is still being sought by police.

On Sunday afternoon, police responded to two more stabbing incidents. In the first incident, a 60-year-old man was stabbed in the 200 block of Second Avenue South and taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Video surveillance showed a suspect believed to be in his 30s, five feet 10 inches tall, with a goatee and a mohawk, wearing a black hoodie with large graffiti print. The second incident occurred around an hour later in the 500 block of Avenue P North, where a 36-year-old man was found outside a residence with a non-life-threatening injury. Police have no further information available regarding this incident.

The police do not believe that the incidents were random and are actively investigating each case to determine the motives behind the attacks. It is unclear at this time whether the stabbings are related or if they are isolated incidents. The victims in each case were taken to the hospital with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening. Authorities are urging anyone with information about these incidents to come forward and assist with the investigation.

The seriousness of the stabbings has raised concerns among the community, as violent incidents like these can have a significant impact on public safety and well-being. Residents may feel uneasy and fearful following these events, and it is crucial for law enforcement to address these concerns and work towards preventing similar incidents in the future. The Saskatoon Police Service is increasing patrols and surveillance in the affected areas to ensure the safety of residents and to prevent further violence from occurring.

In conclusion, the recent spate of stabbings in Saskatoon has prompted a swift response from the police, who are actively investigating the incidents to ensure the safety of the community. The victims in each case suffered serious injuries but are expected to recover. Authorities are working tirelessly to identify and apprehend the suspects responsible for these violent acts, and are seeking assistance from the public in their efforts. It is essential for residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities to prevent further harm and maintain public safety in the area.
