I request the harshest punishment under the law.” Sefa Şerif Efe’s lawyer mentioned that Efe was trying to make a living by working as a courier and added, “He became a victim of an unlicensed, irresponsible citizen who violated traffic rules and caused the accident. When the accident investigation report is examined, the severity of the incident will be revealed. We believe that the defendant’s actions constitute conscious negligence. We request that the defendant be punished under the most severe charges and for conscious negligence.”
The hearing was adjourned to December 24th, with the court ordering a warrant for the defendant’s forcible presence and the procurement of a fault report from a traffic expert. The incident occurred on April 19th in Kamalı Mahallesi, Atakum district, where an unlicensed driver, M.B., collided with the motorcycle driven by courier Sefa Şerif Efe on 4009th Street. Sefa Şerif Efe, who was severely injured in the accident, could not be saved despite being taken to the hospital.
