This curated guide provides a weekly roundup of the most exciting fashion drops, hotel openings, restaurant debuts, and high-profile cultural events happening in New York City. Featured in the luxury list this week are a new eatery at Bergdorf Goodman, a store in the West Village focused on local goods, and a Kiwi brand that has made its debut in the Flatiron district. Bergdorf Goodman has transformed its lower-level café into a tribute to Italian heritage brand Ginori 1735, offering Italian-inspired menus and refreshing cocktails. The Swimmer exhibition at FLAG Art Foundation features works by artists like Vija Celmins, Cindy Sherman, and Jack Pierson, inspired by a John Cheever short story.

Locavore, a new store in the West Village, emphasizes shopping local with over 700 products from 130 companies located within 100 miles of NYC. Founded by Caroline Weaver, the shop offers a range of products from health and beauty to home goods and pantry items, reflecting her dedication to supporting independent retailers. MarieBelle chocolates, founded in 2000 by Maribel Lieberman, offers a variety of hand-made chocolates at locations including her SoHo flagship and The Pierre Hotel. The chocolates are made by passionate artisans in Brooklyn and are packaged in signature bright blue boxes.

Rodd & Gunn, a New Zealand menswear brand, has opened its second NYC location, featuring a range of high-quality garments designed for the confident man. Despite its sporting name, the store does not carry hunting or fishing equipment but instead offers linen shirts, cotton-linen jackets, polos, and leather accessories. The brand’s focus is on providing timeless, well-crafted pieces for the modern man. With its dedicated focus on local goods, Locavore in the West Village showcases products from 130 companies located within 100 miles of NYC. The shop’s founder, Caroline Weaver, has been a proponent of supporting independent retailers through her efforts with the Locavore Guide.

Some of the featured artists at The Swimmer exhibition at FLAG Art Foundation include Ed Ruscha, Elmgreen & Dragset, and Katherine Bradford, who created new paintings for the show. Inspired by a John Cheever short story, the exhibition presents a unique array of artworks focusing on themes of summer and escapism. The exhibition runs through August 9, offering a diverse and engaging experience for art enthusiasts. Bergdorf Goodman’s café has been transformed into a stylish homage to Ginori 1735, offering Italian-inspired cuisine and cocktails in a beautifully designed space featuring elements sourced exclusively from the Italian heritage brand. Italian-o-philes can enjoy lunch and apertivo at the café’s multi-layered setting.
