The global economy is currently facing a pivotal moment filled with uncertainty. Many central banks around the world have shifted their focus from fighting inflation to trying to prevent a recession, in a challenging economic soft landing that is difficult to achieve. This situation occurs in a volatile world where geopolitical conflicts continue and amidst an electoral year that has seen numerous changes in governments worldwide. The upcoming highlight remains the presidential elections in the United States. In this turbulent and polarized world, there are also opportunities, which will be highlighted at the Latin America, United States, and Spain in the global economy forum organized by EL PAÍS and the Spain-United States Chamber of Commerce.

The event, which takes place in New York parallel to the United Nations General Assembly, will feature the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, and the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, among a diverse panel of authorities and business leaders. The forum is organized by EL PAÍS and the Spain-United States Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by various companies in collaboration with the Ibero-American States Organization. The event can be live-streamed on the EL PAÍS website from 8:15 am New York time until approximately 1:30 pm.

The forum will feature discussions on various topics such as the role of infrastructure in economic growth, trends in sustainability, challenges and opportunities in energy transition, achieving a greener global economy, generative artificial intelligence, and the intersection of digital transformation and artificial intelligence in education, science, and culture. These discussions will be moderated by experts in the respective fields and will include participation from representatives of leading companies such as Iberia, Walmart, Indra, Google, Nestlé, and more.

The event will also touch on the impact of technology giants in the Americas, particularly focusing on the role of multinational technology companies. The closing remarks will be delivered by the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, introduced by the director of EL PAÍS. Overall, the forum aims to shed light on the importance of transatlantic ties in today’s global economy, amidst a backdrop of geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainties. It serves as a platform for leaders and experts to discuss and exchange ideas on key issues shaping the economic landscape of Latin America, the United States, and Spain. The ongoing dialogue and collaboration fostered through such events are crucial in navigating the challenges and seizing the opportunities in the ever-evolving global economic environment.
