In the city where the earthquakes caused destruction on February 6, 2023, buildings continue to rise for the residents to safely live in their new homes. The earthquake victims who have settled in the earthquake houses completed in the Gülderen Mahallesi are entering the new year in their warm homes. Meryem Konaç, one of the earthquake victims, stated that they went through tough times with her husband Abdülvahit Konaç and their 5 children after the earthquakes.

Konaç expressed happiness about spending the new year in their warm home, saying, “Thank God, our house is beautiful and warm, but our children were away after the earthquake. We used to celebrate New Year together, but still, we thank God our days are good. Hopefully, all our children will come in the future, and we will celebrate the new year together.” Konaç also wished for all earthquake victims to reunite with their homes in the new year.

Konaç emphasized that they live in their homes safely and peacefully, saying, “Our home is very beautiful, 3+1 and each room is warm, thank God we have no deficiencies left. Thanks a thousand times to our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and our entire state.” Cuma Önal, a 56-year-old resident living in the earthquake houses in Gülderen Mahallesi, also stated that they live peacefully in their homes.

Önal mentioned that they will celebrate the new year in their home for the first time after the earthquakes, saying, “We are spending the new year in our new home, Thank God, they completed the house within 1.5 years, may everyone be blessed.” Aysel Önal also stated that they will celebrate the new year in their warm homes after experiencing living in a tent and then a container after the earthquakes. She expressed her excitement about celebrating with her family in their home.

Overall, the earthquake victims in Gülderen Mahallesi are finding comfort and happiness in their new homes as they prepare to celebrate the new year peacefully with their loved ones. The completion of these earthquake houses has provided a sense of security and hope for the residents who have suffered the devastating effects of the earthquakes. The residents express their gratitude to the government, particularly President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, for their efforts in providing them with safe and comfortable homes in a timely manner. As they look forward to the new year, they remain hopeful for better days ahead as they continue to rebuild their lives after the tragic events of the earthquakes.
