In the Celep neighborhood of Kulu district, a heavy rain turned into a flash flood in the evening hours. The municipality, fire department, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the neighborhood where the flood occurred.
As agricultural fields and roads were submerged in water, an elderly woman who lived alone and had her house flooded was rescued by the fire department teams. A flock of small livestock that was caught in the floodwaters was also moved to a safe area by the teams. Some houses and businesses were also flooded due to the flood.
As a result of the flood, a part of the neighborhood cemetery wall collapsed, and Kulu District Governor Ömer Faruk Canpolat and Mayor Abdurrahim Sertdemir conducted inspections in the area.
After the water in the area is drained, damage assessment work will be initiated.
Additionally, regional hailstorms affected agricultural areas in Akşehir, Bozkır, Çumra, Karatay, Taşkent, and Tuzlukçu districts.
