A mother of three, Fatma Şahin, was diagnosed with cervical cancer at the Kayseri City Hospital in 2021 after seeking treatment for various complaints in her body. Despite the initial despair of the diagnosis, Şahin did not lose hope as she received support from her family and underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy to successfully beat cancer within 4 years. She expressed her happiness in continuing her life in a healthy manner and revealed that she had visited the hospital 4 years ago due to some complaints in her body.

During the treatment process, Şahin admitted that she faced difficult times and initially struggled to accept her illness. However, she did not let her morale down and continued her treatment regularly. She recalled the moment of arriving at the hospital with her children and feeling very sad but eventually being told by the doctors that she had received good results due to starting treatment early. She emphasized the importance of women taking care of their health and not denying the possibility of having an illness, urging them to seek medical attention early and trust their doctors.

Expressing her gratitude, Şahin praised the hospital staff for their helpfulness during her treatment process and thanked the doctors and nurses for their support. Additionally, she emphasized the significance of early diagnosis in overcoming cancer completely. Dr. Ender Doğan, a Medical Oncology Specialist at Kayseri City Hospital, highlighted the case of Fatma Şahin who sought medical help 4 years ago due to various complaints. Dr. Doğan explained that after examinations and tests, Şahin underwent surgery followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Dr. Doğan stressed the importance of early diagnosis in saving lives, stating that due to Şahin’s early treatment, she was able to successfully beat cancer. He also raised awareness about the tendency of older people in society to avoid seeking medical help out of fear or neglecting their symptoms. Dr. Doğan warned that delaying treatment by hiding complaints can have dangerous consequences and emphasized the positive outcomes of early treatment in completely overcoming cancer. Overall, the success story of Fatma Şahin serves as a reminder of the importance of timely medical intervention and not underestimating the significance of regular check-ups and early detection in fighting life-threatening diseases like cancer.
