Delta Air Lines is set to change its boarding process starting May 1, by implementing numbered zones for passengers. The boarding will begin with pre-boarding, followed by Zone 1 for Delta One or First Class customers, then Zone 2 for Diamond Medallions and Delta Premium Select customers. Zones 1 through 4 will use the Sky Priority lane, and Zones 5 through 8 will use the General Boarding lane, similar to the current process.

Delta previously used numbered zones until 2019 when they switched to boarding by named categories, but are now reverting back to zones.
