Vali Atay and District Governor Nazlı Demir conducted inspections in areas that were damaged when heavy rain turned into a flood yesterday afternoon. Atay stated that after the sudden rainfall in the afternoon, some vehicles were submerged in water.
He also mentioned that the citizens who were stranded have been rescued, and water is being drained from the houses. Currently, some cleaning efforts are also underway, while officials are assessing the extent of the damage in the field.
Atay emphasized that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is closely following the situation in the district. He mentioned that last night, the necessary instructions were given to speed up the recovery efforts and heal the wounds caused by the disaster.
Various departments including AFAD and Special Provincial Administration teams are working in coordination with the district governorate to address the issues. It has been reported that 70 houses were flooded, 1 house suffered severe damage, and the belongings of 70 houses were also affected. Additionally, there are some infrastructure problems in certain areas. 7 businesses and 6 vehicles were also impacted by the flood, and necessary actions are being planned to address the damages.
