The Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers faced off in a dramatic matchup on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” that ended with a 20-17 victory for the Cowboys. The game was delayed by nearly 90 minutes due to weather, and the Cowboys were able to edge out a win despite multiple mistakes, including turnovers by quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott ultimately led the Cowboys to victory with two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, helping them improve to 3-2 on the season while dropping Pittsburgh to the same record.

The Cowboys outgained the Steelers 445-226 in total yards, including 352 passing yards by Prescott. Despite their offensive success, the Cowboys struggled with penalties and turnovers throughout the game. Pittsburgh’s quarterback, Justin Fields, threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. The game ended with Prescott finding Jalen Tolbert for a four-yard touchdown pass with just 20 seconds remaining, giving the Cowboys the lead for good in a hard-fought battle between two historic NFL franchises.

The victory was a result of delayed gratification for the Cowboys, who struggled to close drives with points earlier in the game. The win gave them momentum as they improved their record to 3-2, while Pittsburgh suffered their second consecutive loss after starting the season 3-0. Prescott’s performance included two interceptions and a fumble, but he came through when it mattered most to help secure the win for Dallas.

Despite difficulties converting on third down, the Steelers remained in the game until the final seconds when Dallas scored the game-winning touchdown. Pittsburgh had a chance to capitalize on turnovers committed by the Cowboys but failed to turn those opportunities into points consistently. The game featured strong defensive performances from both teams, with key plays on both sides shaping the outcome of the game.

The matchup between the Cowboys and the Steelers was a historic meeting between two of the NFL’s most storied franchises. Both teams have a rich history of success in the league, with a combined 11 Super Bowl titles and 16 appearances between them. The showdown was the first time the teams had met on “Sunday Night Football,” adding to the anticipation of the game. The legacy of both teams extends beyond this game, as they remain two of the top teams in terms of regular-season wins and Super Bowl success in the league’s history.

Overall, the game was a thrilling display of competition and resilience by both teams, with the Cowboys ultimately coming out on top in a close battle. The victory was a significant one for Dallas as they looked to bounce back from a slow start to the season. Despite their struggles with penalties and turnovers, the Cowboys showed resilience and determination to secure the win. The performance of Dak Prescott, in particular, was crucial in helping the team overcome their mistakes and emerge victorious in a hard-fought matchup against the Steelers.
