Customer Orders McDonald’s Burger Sans Ingredients, Gets Empty Box

Greg, a Doordash customer, ordered a triple cheeseburger from McDonald’s with everything removed, resulting in a literal nothing burger being delivered to him in an open box. The user shared his out-of-the-box scheme in a post that went viral with 53.3 million views on X. The Doordash order included a triple burger with various items removed such as ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, beef, cheese, bun, and salt costing $5.39.

Before receiving the unusual order, the dasher messaged Greg to inform him that he would be getting an empty box. Greg responded by showing his approval, and the delivery was made as expected. The burger box was opened to reveal nothing inside, confirming that Greg’s order for a burger with everything removed had been fulfilled. Despite the package being a McCrispy box instead of the requested Triple Burger container, the delivery was accurate.

Although Greg was disappointed with the overall order due to the container mix-up, he still generously tipped the dasher $11 and gave a five-star review, bringing the total cost close to $20. Most of the blame for the mistake was directed towards McDonald’s themselves, as Greg felt that they had still managed to mess up his order. However, the humorous nature of the prank and the generous tip made it a memorable experience for both the customer and the dasher.

The online community, including X users, found Greg’s stunt to be amusing and entertaining. Many expressed their amusement at the situation, with some commenting on the high cost of an empty box from McDonald’s. The possibility of the prank being social commentary on the rising prices of fast food items was also raised, as reports have shown that McDonald’s menu prices have increased significantly over the last decade.

In the end, Greg’s nothing-burger prank was a success in providing humor and entertainment to those who witnessed it. Despite the mix-up with the delivery container, the dasher was compensated generously, and the overall experience left a positive impression. The viral post on X garnered a lot of attention and sparked discussions about the cost of fast food and the potential for creative pranks in the online delivery world. Greg’s joke was a lighthearted way to engage with the fast food delivery service and create a memorable experience for all involved.
