President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Sumy Oblast to inspect fortifications and was briefed on the construction of a platoon stronghold near Sumy. The stronghold project includes reinforced concrete structures, firing positions for tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, and corrugated steel shelters. The visit and inspection underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and preparedness in the face of continued Russian aggression. Zelensky’s presence at the stronghold construction site demonstrated leadership and support for the Ukrainian military’s efforts to defend the country against Russian incursions.
Syrskyi emphasized that despite the ammunition advantage enjoyed by Russian forces, Ukraine’s use of high-precision ammunition enables them to target enemy concentrations even at a distance from the front lines.
