Schulz indicated that Brady’s reaction seemed genuine, as the roasters were told not to make jokes about “happy endings” with Kraft. Schulz felt that Brady might have wanted to shut down the roast after Ross’s joke, calling it an “alpha move.”
Despite being open to jokes about his failed marriage, DeflateGate, and relationship with Bill Belichick, Brady was not okay with jokes about Kraft, which he made clear. Ross, on the other hand, appeared on the “Rich Eisen Show” after the roast and shared that he did not think Brady was actually mad at him for the Kraft joke. He explained that Kraft is like a father figure to Brady and that the quarterback was merely showing his love for him. Ross mentioned having a great conversation with Kraft after the roast, where Kraft also had his own spot and jokingly asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to return his Super Bowl ring.
