Colin Jost Makes Uncomfortable Joke About Scarlett Johansson’s Body on ‘SNL’

Colin Jost, a star of “Saturday Night Live,” recently made an offensive joke about his wife, Scarlett Johansson, during the “Weekend Update” segment of the Season 49 finale. The joke referenced a new voice assistant feature inspired by Johansson’s AI character in the movie “Her,” with Jost commenting that without her body, what’s the point of listening. The joke, delivered as part of a traditional bit where Jost and co-host Michael Che write offensive jokes for each other, shocked the audience but seemed to be a setup by Che to make Jost take a dig at his wife.

This isn’t the first time that Jost has made jokes at Johansson’s expense. At the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Jost name-dropped Johansson while evaluating the Biden-Harris administration, jokingly thanking her for agreeing to individually meet everyone in the room and encouraging the crowd to come up to her. In January, Jost shared a tongue-in-cheek skincare tutorial while trying out Johansson’s skincare products in a women’s bathroom. The video, titled “In the Women’s Bathroom with Colin Jost,” showcased Jost repping his wife’s skincare line and making jokes as he tested various products.

Jost and Johansson got married in 2020 and welcomed a son together in 2021. Despite some of the jokes and jabs made by Jost, the couple seems to have a strong relationship. Jost is a regular on “Saturday Night Live” and is known for his sense of humor and comedic chops. He often participates in sketches and skits that push the boundaries of comedy. His jokes about Johansson may simply be part of their dynamic as a couple, with both of them having successful careers in the entertainment industry.

Jost’s recent joke about Johansson in the “Weekend Update” segment has sparked some controversy and backlash on social media, with some viewers finding the joke offensive and inappropriate. However, others have defended Jost’s comedic style and suggested that it was all in good fun. Jost and Johansson have not publicly commented on the joke or the reaction to it, but it seems likely that they will continue to support each other in their respective careers. The couple’s relationship will likely remain strong despite the occasional jokes and teasing in public settings.

Overall, Colin Jost’s joke about Scarlett Johansson on “Saturday Night Live” has generated a mix of reactions from viewers and fans. While some have criticized the joke as offensive, others have defended Jost’s comedic style and his right to make jokes about his wife. Jost and Johansson appear to have a solid relationship and have demonstrated a sense of humor in public appearances. It remains to be seen whether Jost will continue to make jokes about Johansson in the future, but their dynamic as a couple seems to be based on mutual respect and affection.
