Chase Elliott ended a 42-race winless streak by taking victory at Texas Motor Speedway, where he had to withstand two overtime restarts to secure the win. The race featured 16 cautions and saw Elliott holding off the field in the final laps. His last win was in October 2022 at Talladega. Elliott expressed his gratitude to those who supported him through a challenging season that saw him miss races due to injury and suspension. Brad Keselowski finished second in the race, with William Byron, Tyler Reddick, and Daniel Suarez rounding out the top five.

Elliott led the final 17 laps of the race and took the lead on Lap 260. Despite challenges from Denny Hamlin and a caution, Elliott managed to maintain his position at the front. The race featured a wild ending with two overtime restarts, during which multiple incidents occurred. In the final lap of the race, an incident between William Byron and Ross Chastain brought out a caution, securing Elliott’s victory. Elliott credited his team for their hard work and dedication, noting that they deserved the win for their efforts.

The race at Texas Motor Speedway saw several wrecks, including one between William Byron and Ross Chastain in the final laps. Chastain declined to comment after the incident, while Byron explained that he had a run on Chastain and made contact unintentionally. Other wrecks in the race were a result of cars getting loose while attempting passes. Denny Hamlin and Michael McDowell both had spins while trying to take the lead, with Hamlin acknowledging that he got loose and spun out in his attempt to win.

Kyle Larson, who started on the pole and led a race-high 77 laps, experienced a setback when his right rear wheel fell off the car under caution on Lap 117. Despite rallying back to the lead lap, Larson struggled to regain his earlier speed and finished in 21st place. The incident with the wheel highlighted the challenges of using single-lug wheels, which can sometimes give the appearance of being tight but can unexpectedly come loose during a race. Larson remained optimistic despite the setback, recognizing that some days are not meant to be.

Bob Pockrass, a FOX NASCAR Insider, covered the race at Texas Motor Speedway, providing insights into the key moments and takeaways from the event. With extensive experience covering motorsports, Pockrass highlighted the drama and excitement that unfolded during the race, including Elliott’s triumphant return to victory lane after a long winless streak. The race showcased the competitive nature of NASCAR and the determination of drivers to overcome challenges and secure wins.
