The backlash against Butker’s speech included criticism from the wife of LA Rams quarterback, who denounced Butker’s views as promoting “dangerous gender ideologies.” Additionally, “The View” labeled Butker’s religious beliefs as “cult-like” and suggested that he should seek therapy. The league has not yet issued a response to the letter penned by CatholicVote. The advocacy group’s letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt sought to challenge the league’s assertion that Butker’s views were not representative of the organization. CatholicVote questioned whether the NFL’s inclusion efforts truly encompass Catholics, pro-life Americans, mothers, and those with traditional moral beliefs.
