British woman attacked by yak while trekking to Mount Everest required helicopter rescue to hospital

Emma Keen, a 42-year-old British woman, was viciously attacked by a yak while on her way to Mount Everest and had to be airlifted to a hospital. The yak’s horn left a deep 3-inch gash on her leg, causing her to lose a significant amount of blood. Despite the severity of the attack, Emma managed to survive and receive 10 stitches after the incident.

The frightening encounter occurred shortly after Emma arrived at the trek, as she was viciously attacked by the yak, resulting in a large hole in her leg and significant bleeding. Despite her injuries, Emma from South Wales, decided to continue the 130km walk to Mount Everest to raise money for Kidney Wales, opting to ride on horseback for the remaining portions of the journey. Her bravery and determination to complete the trek despite the traumatic incident exemplify her resilience and dedication to the cause she was supporting.

The attack left Emma with severe physical and emotional trauma, with a 3-inch gash on her leg that required 10 stitches to heal. The video of the incident captured the harrowing moments as Emma confronted the yak and fought to defend herself from further harm. Her quick thinking and instinctive reactions potentially saved her from more serious injuries, highlighting her courage and strength in the face of danger.
