Bride’s Multicultural Roots Celebrated in Fairytale Wedding at Groom’s Castle in Italy

Floral designer Andrea Patrizi recreated an Italian Renaissance garden at the church for Tosca and Paulo’s wedding, inspired by Paulo’s family’s castle in the Basilica. The church was described as breathtaking and surreal, with topiary art decorating the aisles and altar. A 40-person choir led by Maestro Giovanni Gava brought tears to the congregation, creating a moving atmosphere for the ceremony. Despite feeling nervous at the beginning, both Tosca and Paulo were overcome with happiness during the exchange of rings. The choir and the words of His Eminence Cardinal Antonio Tagle added to the emotional experience, making it the most love Tosca had ever felt.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds drove away in Tosca’s father’s 1964 Lancia Flaminia, a symbol of Italian dolce vita. Convincing her father to send the car to Rome was challenging but ultimately successful. Following a quick drive to the building next door, guests enjoyed aperitivo in the courtyard before moving to their tables with a view of St. Peter’s Cathedral in the distance. The sunset added to the romantic ambiance as the celebrations continued.

For the second night of their wedding celebrations at the castle in Vignanello, Tosca and Paulo wanted to incorporate the town into the festivities. They opted for a Brazilian street party to pay homage to Tosca’s love for Carnival in Rio and Paulo’s family connection to Brazil. The evening began with medieval Italian flag-wavers and a band before transitioning into the Brazilian celebration. To add a personal touch, Tosca’s Japanese godfather, Yuki Torimoru, created a unique Japanese dress for her, bringing an Asian twist to the traditional castle celebration.

Yuki Torimoru, a famous designer known for dressing Princess Diana in the ’80s, tailored the Japanese dress for Tosca, giving it a modern and Asian-inspired look. The choice to wear something unconventional for a castle wedding reflected Tosca’s desire to bring her Asian heritage into the Ruspoli family history. The attire added a personal touch to the celebrations and showcased the multicultural aspects of the couple’s union, blending Japanese, Italian, and Brazilian influences seamlessly.

The wedding celebrations at the castle in Vignanello incorporated aspects of both Italian and Brazilian cultures, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere. The fusion of traditions, from the Italian garden at the church to the Brazilian street party, showcased the diversity of Tosca and Paulo’s backgrounds. The love and joy felt during the ceremony and subsequent festivities were palpable, with each element contributing to a memorable and special occasion for the couple and their guests. The blending of cultures and personal touches made the wedding a truly unforgettable experience for Tosca, Paulo, and everyone in attendance.
