A boater’s life was saved by a team of law enforcement officials in Louisiana after he was stranded in the water for two days. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced the rescue on Facebook, stating that the incident occurred on May 22. The boater had gone out on May 20, but got disoriented, ran out of gas, and his phone battery died, leading to the emergency. Agencies involved in the rescue included the LDFW, various sheriff’s offices, the Vermilion Parish Constable’s Office, and the U.S. Coast Guard. They used boats, helicopters, and planes to locate the stranded sailor.

Teams from LDWF, SPSO, IPSO, and VPSO searched by boat, while the U.S. Coast Guard deployed a helicopter and airplane, and the Vermilion Parish Constable’s Office scouted the area by vehicle. By 8:30 a.m., the U.S. Coast Guard spotted the stranded vessel at Southwest Pass. Coordinating with the U.S. Coast Guard, the Vermilion Parish Constable’s Office, and LDWF officials, the boater was finally rescued on May 22. The individual was safely reached by the Vermilion Parish Constable’s Office in a pickup truck and then airlifted by the U.S. Coast Guard back to the Quintana Boat Launch. Fortunately, the boater was rescued without any injuries, thanking the great teamwork of all involved.

Fox News Digital reached out to LDWF for comment but did not receive an immediate response. The LDWF praised the teamwork of all the agencies involved in the rescue operation on their Facebook post, highlighting that the boater was rescued without suffering any injuries. The boater’s life was saved thanks to the coordinated efforts of the LDWF, sheriff’s offices, the Vermilion Parish Constable’s Office, and the U.S. Coast Guard, who used boats, helicopters, and planes to locate and rescue the wayward sailor who had been stranded in Louisiana waters for two days.

This successful rescue operation serves as a reminder of the importance of teamwork and coordination among law enforcement agencies in times of emergencies. The boater, who had run out of gas and lost communication due to his phone battery dying, was brought to safety by the combined efforts of the participating agencies. The incident highlights the risks associated with boating, as well as the significance of being prepared and having the necessary equipment and resources to handle unforeseen challenges while out on the water.
