‘Bitter’ Joe Biden Plans to Skip Speeches by Barack Obama and Kamala Harris at DNC

Joe Biden, the former president of the United States, is feeling resentful about the perceived coup that ended his hopes for re-election. He has been demoted to a curtain-raiser speech on the opening night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where he is expected to call for unity in a party that has moved forward without him. Biden will not be staying for the entire convention, missing speeches by his former boss, Barack Obama, and the symbolic handover of the 2024 presidential election torch to his former vice president, Kamala Harris.

The White House has not confirmed whether Biden will be present in Chicago for the convention, but press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the president recognizes the importance of his speech. Politico reports that Biden is frustrated and angry at key party leaders, including Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer, for their roles in pressuring him to step down from the race. Despite feelings of resentment, Biden is said to be looking forward and focused on his remaining five months in office.

The Democratic National Convention will feature speeches from prominent party members such as Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Tim Walz, and Kamala Harris. Biden remains a major player in the party, and his actions at the convention will be closely watched by the Harris-Walz campaign. While Biden may speak about unity and the importance of continuing the work he has done in office, his absence during key speeches by other party members may raise questions about the true level of unity within the Democratic Party.

Biden’s relationship with key party leaders, particularly Obama, Pelosi, and Schumer, has been strained due to his perceived removal from the race. Despite feeling at peace and not bitter, Biden is said to still be upset over the way his friends handled the situation. While some sources report that Biden is positive and looking forward to the future, others suggest that his actions at the convention will speak louder than his words about unity.

The Democratic National Convention promises to be a significant event, showcasing the party’s leaders and setting the stage for the upcoming election. Biden’s role in the convention and his interactions with other party members will be closely monitored, particularly in light of his perceived resentment over the handling of his re-election bid. As the party moves forward without him, Biden will need to navigate his feelings of frustration and disappointment while maintaining a united front for the benefit of the Democratic Party and its future prospects.
