Biden not to blame for Trump’s trial.

Fox News anchor Shannon Bream challenged the assertion made by Donald Trump’s attorney Alina Habba that President Biden is responsible for the criminal charges the former president faces in New York. Habba claimed that Biden was trying to distract the American people with the trial, but Bream pointed out that it was a state trial led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, with no connection to the Biden administration. Bream highlighted that the federal government had passed on election charges against Trump.

The trial in New York involves 34 charges against Trump related to falsifying business records to hide hush money payments made to women just before the 2016 election. Trump has pleaded not guilty in this case, and his allies have argued that the charges are politically motivated to prevent him from seeking reelection in the upcoming presidential race. A jury in New York started deliberating a verdict in the case on Wednesday morning. In addition to this trial, Trump also faces two other criminal cases connected to his attempts to stay in office after the 2020 election, as well as a federal case regarding his retention of White House records.

Despite the claims of political influence on Trump’s prosecution, Bream emphasized that the federal government had declined to pursue charges against him, leaving the case in the hands of the state of New York. Habba suggested that logs showing visits from state officials to the White House were evidence of political interference in Trump’s case. However, Bream reiterated that the trial was being conducted at the state level, stressing that there was no direct link to the Department of Justice or the Biden administration.

The discussion between Bream and Habba shed light on the complexities and controversies surrounding Trump’s legal battles in New York. While Trump and his supporters have painted the charges as politically motivated, Bream clarified that the case was being handled independently by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. The ongoing trial and deliberations in New York mark a significant moment in Trump’s post-presidential legal challenges, which include multiple criminal cases and investigations related to his time in office.

Overall, the exchange on Fox News highlighted the differing perspectives on the nature of Trump’s legal troubles and the role of the Biden administration in the proceedings. Bream’s pushback against the claims of political influence underscored the importance of upholding the independence of the judicial process and separating it from partisan politics. As Trump’s legal battles continue to unfold, the discussions and debates surrounding them serve as a reflection of the broader tensions and divisions in American politics.
