Biden campaign looks forward to seizing additional opportunities to present their case following conclusion of Trump’s trial in New York

The Biden campaign is uncertain about the outcome of Donald Trump’s hush money trial in New York, but they are preparing for a more aggressive phase of the reelection campaign once the trial is over. The campaign is focusing on ads, messaging, and infrastructure to make their case to the American people ahead of November. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the trial’s conclusion, the campaign plans to maintain their case against Trump regardless of the outcome.

The Biden campaign is aware that a significant portion of the population still does not understand that the choice on Election Day will be between Biden and Trump. They will need to adjust their messaging and strategy based on the outcome of the trial, but their overall case against Trump will remain consistent. The campaign has launched a new ad narrated by actor Robert De Niro called “Snapped,” highlighting Trump’s behavior after losing the 2020 election and the January 6 insurrection.

Campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon emphasized the campaign’s focus on Trump’s dangerous rhetoric and promises leading up to the upcoming debate on CNN. The campaign aims to remind voters of the chaos and harm caused by Trump during his presidency and why he was voted out four years ago. President Biden has a busy month ahead with trips to Europe, including commemorating D-Day and attending the annual G-7 summit, as well as a fundraising swing to California.

The campaign has identified key moments focused on the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade and the anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. O’Malley Dillon criticized Trump’s response to the shooting, stating that he viewed it as something to simply “get over.” Closing arguments in Trump’s trial are scheduled for next week, with the jury receiving instructions from the judge before deliberation. The exact timeline for the jury’s decision is unknown.
