The Pop Album of the Year was awarded to Olivia Rodrigo for her album GUTS, while the Pop Song of the Year was won by Miley Cyrus for her song “Flowers.” Beyonce received the Innovator Award, Cher was honored with the Icon Award, and Green Day received the Landmark Award. Country Album of the Year went to Luke Combs for “Fast Car,” while Lainey Wilson won Country Song of the Year with “Heart Like A Truck.” SZA’s album SOS was named R&B Album of the Year, and she also won R&B Song of the Year for “Snooze.”
In the Hip-Hop category, Metro Boomin’s album “Heroes & Villains” won Hip-Hop Album of the Year, with Lil Durk ft. J. Cole taking home Hip-Hop Song of the Year for “All My Life.” Rock Album of the Year was awarded to Metallica for “72 Seasons,” and Linkin Park won Rock Song of the Year with “Lost.” Stray Kids won K-pop Album of the Year for “5 Star,” and FIFTY FIFTY’s “Cupid (Twin Version)” was named K-pop Song of the Year. Alternative Album of the Year went to Boygenius for “The Record,” while Blink-182’s “One More Time” won Alternative Song of the Year.
The Artist of the Year award went to Taylor Swift, while Olivia Rodrigo won Pop Artist of the Year. Usher was named Pop Artist of the Year. The Duo/Group of the Year award went to OneRepublic, and the Best Collaboration was awarded to Rema and Selena Gomez for “Calm Down.” The Best New Artist awards were won by Latin Pop / Urban Artist Young Miko, Alt and Rock Artist Noah Kahan, and K-pop Artist NewJeans. In the R&B category, Victoria Monét was named Best New Artist.
Socially Voted Categories included Best Lyrics, which had Olivia Rodrigo’s “vampire” winning, and Best Music Video, where FIFTY FIFTY’s “Cupid (Twin Version)” took the top spot. Favorite Fan Army went to the BTS Army, and Gracie Abrams won the Social Star Award. Layover – V by WINNER was named Favorite Debut Album, and Sabrina Carpenter’s Alfredo Flores won Favorite Tour Photographer. The TikTok Bop of the Year award went to Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” and J-Hope’s “j-hope IN THE BOX” won Favorite On Screen.
