Authorities confirm that 4 missing climbers have been found dead near the summit of Mont Blanc in France.

Rescue officials in France discovered the bodies of two Italian and two South Korean climbers near the peak of Mont Blanc after they went missing during bad weather over the weekend. The climbers were found at an altitude of over 15,400 feet on the highest peak in the Alps. The climbers had contacted rescuers on Saturday afternoon, but worsening weather conditions made it difficult for rescue teams to reach them in time.

The bodies of the climbers were found close to the peak of Mont Blanc on the French side, and they were determined to have died of hypothermia. The Chamonix-Mont Blanc rescue team located the two pairs of climbers high on the mountain. The unaccompanied climbers had notified rescuers on Saturday, but due to the worsening weather conditions, rescue efforts were unsuccessful. Two other Korean climbers were successfully rescued on Sunday morning at an altitude of over 13,400 feet following a complex operation by rescue teams.

French authorities have launched an investigation into the tragic incident on Mont Blanc. The climbers, who were from Italy and South Korea, were found deceased after going missing in bad weather conditions over the weekend. The rescue team from Chamonix-Mont Blanc discovered the bodies of the climbers at a high altitude on the Alps’ highest peak. Despite the climbers alerting rescuers on Saturday, worsening weather conditions hampered rescue efforts.
