Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, have been charged with fraud and theft, including stealing money, jewelry, a Cadillac Escalade, and furniture. The two were arrested after a SWAT team raided Kingston’s rented mansion in Fort Lauderdale. Turner was arrested at the scene, while Kingston was arrested at an Army training base in California, where he was performing. Kingston, known for hits like “Beautiful Girls” and “Eenie Meenie,” is currently being held in a California jail awaiting extradition to Florida.

The attorney for Kingston and his mother stated that Kingston would voluntarily return to Florida if allowed, which would save the state the expense of extradition. Turner is being held on a $160,000 bond at the Broward County jail. The specific details of their alleged crimes are not included in the warrants, but it is stated that they stole hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, money from banks, and other items between October and March. Kingston was already on probation for trafficking stolen property, and his mother previously served time in prison for bank fraud.

Both Kingston and his mother have a history of legal issues and lawsuits. Turner pleaded guilty to bank fraud in 2006 and served time in prison. The two have also faced lawsuits in the past, including one from a New York City federal court in 2015 for failing to pay for customized watches. They were successfully sued by a New York jeweler in 2018 for scamming the store out of nine items. Most recently, a Florida entertainment systems company sued Kingston for failing to pay $120,000 of a $150,000 bill for a large television installed in his home. The lawsuit alleges that Kingston promised commercials with Justin Bieber, but this never happened, and Bieber had no involvement in the situation.

The charges against Kingston and Turner include conducting an organized scheme to defraud, grand theft, identity theft, and related crimes. Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Anderson, has a history of legal troubles and was already on probation. While the details of their alleged crimes are not fully disclosed, the warrants indicate that the two stole significant amounts of money and valuables over several months. Kingston’s attorney expressed confidence in a successful resolution for his client and his mother in court.

The arrests of Kingston and Turner follow a raid on Kingston’s rented mansion in Fort Lauderdale by a SWAT team. Turner was arrested at the scene, while Kingston was arrested in California, where he was performing at an Army training base. The specific details of their alleged crimes have not been publicly revealed, but the warrants indicate that they stole large sums of money, jewelry, and other items. Despite their legal troubles and past lawsuits, Kingston’s attorney remains hopeful for a successful outcome in court for both the rapper and his mother.
