A lawyer named Jeffrey Limmer was shot and killed by an upset McDonald’s customer in Houston after trying to calm the man down during an altercation at the fast-food restaurant. The customer had initially been upset over his order and demanded a refund from an employee at the McDonald’s on West Interstate Highway 10 service road. Limmer, who lived nearby and was known for trying to diffuse tense situations, stepped in to help but ended up arguing with the customer.
The situation escalated when the altercation turned physical, leading to Limmer shoving the man to the ground in the parking lot. The customer then retrieved a gun from his car and shot Limmer before fleeing the scene in a blue Ford pickup truck. Limmer tragically died from his injuries. Despite the incident, no arrests have been made according to the police.
Limmer’s sister, Jennifer Thomas, described her brother as someone who always sought to calm people down and do the right thing. He was known for standing up for the little guy and was a well-respected lawyer in Houston, having received his law degree from South Texas College of Law and working as an associate at the Lewis Brisbois law firm. Thomas explained that Limmer frequently ordered from the McDonald’s location and tragically lost his life while trying to help others.
As his family mourns his loss, they are waiting for the shooter to be caught and brought to justice. Thomas expressed how proud they are of Limmer for standing up for what he believed in and trying to help the employees at the McDonald’s during a difficult situation. She described him as a good Samaritan who was always willing to do the right thing, even in dangerous circumstances. The family is devastated by the loss but remembers Limmer for his kindness and dedication to helping others.
