Adult visitors at Disney World are increasingly blending work and play

The rise of remote work at Disney World has become a notable trend in recent years, with a growing number of adults choosing to work from the theme park. This phenomenon has gained momentum since around 2022, as people have started returning to the parks post-pandemic and remote work has become more common. From Disney bloggers and freelance journalists to tech professionals and travel agents, a variety of individuals have been documenting their remote work experiences from inside the parks on social media.

AJ Wolfe, a Disney parks writer and creator of the Disney Food Blog, has been working in the parks and advising others on the best places to work within them for over 15 years. She has observed an increasing number of people purposefully choosing to work remotely from Disney World since the parks reopened in late 2020. Wolfe believes that people are drawn to the idea of working in a place that brings them happiness and allows them to access entertainment quickly after they finish work.

The blurring of lines between workspaces and leisure time has become a common theme in today’s society, as more people seek to combine work with enjoyable experiences. Disney World’s dedicated fan base has embraced this concept, with many individuals opting to work remotely from within the parks. However, this practice has also faced criticism, with some questioning whether remote workers may be taking up valuable space that other guests could use.

In response to the growing trend of remote work at Disney World, the park has implemented more charging stations throughout the resort to accommodate guests who need to power their devices while working. The mobile Disney World app has also become an essential tool for guests, who use it to access various services and amenities within the park. Additionally, Disney has installed wireless charging ports at some cafe-style restaurants, providing guests with a convenient place to charge their laptops or tablets.

The rise of remote work at Disney World is accompanied by an increase in online content related to Disney Parks in general. Many individuals who work remotely from the parks also offer travel-planning services to other Disney fans, while others create daily content about the parks on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and blogs. Despite being independent content creators, these individuals have developed a devoted following within the Disney community.

Overall, the trend of working remotely from Disney World reflects a larger shift towards combining work with enjoyable experiences and seeking out unique workspaces. As people look to integrate work and leisure seamlessly, places like Disney World offer an appealing setting for remote work that allows individuals to access entertainment and relaxation while still being productive.
