Singh, who co-founded the travel expense company Concur before joining Accolade, is deeply involved in the tech industry and recognizes the importance of certain key issues that affect people’s lives on a daily basis. The fundraiser in Seattle was part of a larger fundraising push by Walz, who was scheduled to attend another event in California with Governor Gavin Newsom shortly after.
Accolade, the Seattle-based healthcare technology company that Singh now leads, went public in 2020. Prior to joining Accolade in 2015, Singh led Concur for over two decades before the company was acquired by SAP for $8.3 billion in 2014. Singh’s deep involvement in both the tech industry and politics has given him a unique perspective on the intersection of these two worlds. He believes that issues related to democracy and women’s reproductive rights are fundamental to creating a more just and equitable society.
The fundraiser in Seattle drew a diverse crowd of supporters, including former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. The event was hosted at the residence of Jim Sinegal, in Hunts Point, Washington.
