Aaron Rodgers excited about Jets’ six prime-time games in 2024

Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets are set to be featured prominently in prime time during the 2024 NFL season, with the quarterback expressing excitement about the opportunity. In an interview, Rodgers stated that he and the Jets are must-watch TV, and he is looking forward to the challenge of playing in six prime-time games before their Week 12 bye. The Jets will open the season on “Monday Night Football” against the San Francisco 49ers and will also face the New England Patriots in a Thursday night match-up in Week 3.

The decision to showcase the Jets in prime-time games in the upcoming season was influenced by Rodgers’ return after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury just four snaps into his debut with the team last year. Despite high expectations for the team in 2023, Rodgers’ injury derailed their season, leading to a series of non-competitive prime-time games. The Jets finished with a 7-10 record after losing five of their six prime-time contests. With Rodgers being 40 and coming off an injury, some wonder why the Jets are being featured so frequently in prime time again in 2024.

NFL broadcast executive Mike North indicated that Rodgers’ return is a major storyline for the upcoming season, but he also mentioned that the Jets “owe us one” after last season’s disappointing performance. Rodgers responded to this comment, dismissing the notion that the team owes anyone anything and focusing on the opportunity to make a statement in the upcoming prime-time games. The Jets made some off-season moves to bolster their offense, adding veteran tackles Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses, as well as drafting promising young talents like Olu Fashanu and Malachi Corley.

If Rodgers can stay healthy and perform at a high level throughout the 2024 season, the Jets have the potential to be competitive and make an impact in prime-time games. With a revamped offensive line and talented receiving options, the team is aiming to showcase an exciting and competitive brand of football for fans. While last season was derailed by injuries and underperformance, Rodgers and the Jets are looking to bounce back and make a statement in front of a national audience in their highly-anticipated prime-time match-ups. The team is eager to prove themselves and build on the potential they showed before Rodgers’ injury.
