The horses in London that ran loose and crashed into vehicles were reportedly spooked by construction site noise. The Defence Minister confirmed that two of the horses named Vida and Quaker were in a serious condition after the incident. Bystanders were shocked to see the horses racing through the streets, with one covered in blood. Ambulance crews treated four people for injuries resulting from the incident.

The shocking scene left people wondering how the horses ended up running through London streets, and it was later revealed that they had escaped during a military exercise by the Household Cavalry. Lieutenant Colonel Matt Woodward explained that the horses were frightened by construction works, resulting in the chaotic incident. Fortunately, the horses were brought back under control, and all of them were being monitored for their condition and receiving veterinary care.

The horses bolted early in the morning, with reports of people being injured and vehicles damaged in the chaos. Emergency services responded quickly to the situation, with police managing to bring the horses under control. Witnesses described a disturbing scene of horses galloping through traffic at high speeds, with some running into vehicles. The incident caused concern for the safety of both the public and the horses involved.

The British Army commended the response from the police, ambulance service, fire brigade, and members of the public for their quick actions in containing the situation. The injured soldiers and horses received medical attention promptly, and efforts were made to ensure the safety of all involved. Despite the alarming nature of the incident, such occurrences involving a large group of horses running loose in the city are rare.

The incident highlights the unpredictable nature of animals and the importance of safety measures during military exercises involving horses. The horses’ reaction to unexpected stimuli, such as construction site noise, can lead to dangerous situations, emphasizing the need for proper training and precautions. While the incident caused chaos and uncertainty, the quick response from emergency services helped prevent further injuries and damage.

The horses were eventually returned to Hyde Park Barracks and were undergoing veterinary care to address their injuries. The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges of handling animals in urban environments and the importance of maintaining control in potentially dangerous situations. Overall, the incident involving loose horses in London underscores the need for vigilance and preparedness to ensure the safety of both animals and the public.
