The celebration program for April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day in Sulusaray district of Tokat was postponed by one week due to the earthquakes that occurred on April 18 with magnitudes of 4.7 and 5.6. In honor of the holiday, the District Governor Ömer Burak Bozkurt and Mayor Davut Kılıç laid a wreath at the Atatürk Monument in the district.
The celebration program in the district was postponed by a week, as reported. Governor Numan Hatipoğlu pointed out that the earthquakes occurred in Sulusaray five days ago. Hatipoğlu stated that the celebration program would be held on the following Tuesday, as it was postponed for a week.
Furthermore, Hatipoğlu mentioned that efforts were underway regarding the damaged buildings in the district due to the earthquake. He added that two minarets of mosques were demolished to prevent them from posing a danger.
